All dressed up for Christmas in a red coat, a fur-trimmed hat, and a muff. This card is German and is embossed which is why the penciled message on the back is virtually unreadable. A pretty embossed German postcard wishes A Merry Xmas to You. This card is still crisp and was not postally used. It's addressed to a Miss Sophie Nundahl of Perry, North Dakota and the small message on the divided back read "With best wishes for a Merry Christmas From Eddie." View more info

An ornate design with a shiny gold background and embossing make this one a standout. There is a slight postmark to the front, so the price has been adjusted for same, but it's still a beauty with just a little corner wear! Note the kids in the whirl of smoke from Santa's pipe. There's no indication of origin, but there is a printed notation on the back that says St. Nicholas Series No. 3. The message on the divided back reads "How did you find everybody in Logansport? Am going to Niad (?) this afternoon and wish you could be there too. That candy was just fine. Mary." The card is addressed t... View more info

Price: $8.95

Publisher: European, Unknown: 1912

Seller ID: 0638

Condition: Fine

This hand-tinted vintage postcard is in exceptionally nice condition despite the fact that it had been sent through the mail. Both the sender and the recipient were from Spain and the Spanish postage stamp is still present. The message is in Spanish and was sent to a woman named Pilar from her friend Carmen Garcia Carillo. I brushed off my high school Spanish a little and I think Carmen was saying that Christmas was coming and she would be spending it with friends and family. The Dutch girl on the cover is whimsical with her pert pose and basket, though I'm not sure what's hanging out of it! ... View more info

This gorgeous unused postcard is a thing of beauty, a little gift to give or keep. The card is heavy (for a postcard) due to the metallic-looking portions and the padded red fabric trimmed with red ribbon that makes a bow in the upper left corner. The center section shows a Christmas tree beneath which are the words "Merry Christmas." The outer frame is a bronze color and the center is gold. The card is very textured and very clean with just minor wear. No writing on the divided back. Card will arrive in a brand new plastic sleeve. View more info

Japanese Christmas Card . Best Wishes From Japan

By: Norman Berry

Price: $12.00

Publisher: Japan, No publisher stated: Circa 1940's

Seller ID: 4226

Condition: Very good condition

This is not a postcard, but a holiday greeting card. It measures 4"x5" and has a plain white back with no writing and no stamping. The only personal thing is on the front at the bottom margin. The sender wrote, "See you soon. Norman Berry." The card was likely sent in an envelope along wih a Christmas letter for the folks at home. Many of the Christmas cards from Japan were colorful and rather Americanesque. But this card is a good collectible, as it brings together the icons of the Japanese culture and the time in which the sender would never forget. View more info
