Four tightly bound magazines, each measuring 5-1/2"x8-1/2" sporting the same blue cover design with ads at back cover. This is a hard one to find in these early issues and all four are completely intact save a small loss of paper at spines. A few spines show evidence of regluing to paper, but only at crown and tail of two. Spine paper has darkened and there are a few small exterior stains, plus dampstain mark to edges of a couple pages on two issues. Otherwise text block is very clean on all. The advertising is wonderful with illustration in some instances. Magazine was published for the merch... View more info

This is a cool thing, whether you are an alum yourself or are looking for an ancestor who was a member. Looks like this was quite a bash, as brothers descended on the Hotel Hollendan for a five day gala -- December 27th to the 31st. It's interesting to note that Zeta Beta Tau was the first Jewish fraternity in the U.S.. It's not sectarian anymore, but it still was at the time of this event. The brochure measures 5-1/2"x8" and pulls out to reveal five printed page on the front and five on the back. Members came from City College of New York, Columbia, Pennsylvania. Though this is actually a magazine, it's printed in newspaper fashion and yet remains remarkably good. There are few tiny edge tears and a chip from the side of page one, but I have been able to mend all tears at folds with non-browning archival tape which is nearly invisible. When opened the magazine measures 12"x16-1/2". The two brown stickers on the face are the mailing labels to De Soto, Missouri. This is the Christmas issue so there are holiday stories, but also an article about embroideries at the London Arts and Crafts Exhibition as well as two pages devoted to embroidery patterns. Ther... Technically, yes, this is a book, but when it dates from the 50's it's also ephemeral. Lots and lots of bad things can happen over almost 60 years to an inexpensive book given to kids! It's a rather hard-to-find title which contains three stories about the Disney character, Donald Duck -- Donald Duck's Toy Train; Donald Duck's Adventure; and Donald Duck and the Witch. First edition as per letter "A" found at lower corner of gutter on last page. Book shows mild wear to extremities including a small loss of foil to spine at top and bottom, but is very clean and tightly bound. Former owner's name... View more info

I am delighted to have found these! I have about seven Jacquard coverlets, so was quite charmed when I found them. These are two very nice, clean exhibit catalogs measuring 8" x 11", both featuring the collection of John and Janet Simmermaker of Winnemac, Indiana. Both catalogs were printed to accompany displays at the Conner Prairie Pioneer Settlement. Wove in Indiana was for the December 1978 event. Beautifully clean, sophisticated magzine which addresses all of the performing arts and other night time pleasures in the city. The ads are wonderful -- many, if not most, are for high end items. There's always a lot to read in these and this one is no exception. The big stories are a play called I'd Rather Be Right which was a lampoon about President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, an essay about being a foot soldier in the battle of prohibition; and the new Disney Studio's movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
