I love this summer cover painted by McClelland Barclay (whom I've always called the guy whose name sounds like it's backwards!). It sets just the right tone for the pages of summer fashions inside. Barclay was best known as a pin-up artist, but he did a lot of commercial advertising work too. The best thing about this issue though is the intact page of Dolly Dingle paper dolls, totally pristine and uncut. Also, of interest is an article about Herbert Hoover in the role of grandfather.
