Booklet has its faults, but is not commonly seen and is tightly bound and complete. The English-Speaking Union began in London in 1918, thanks to the efforts of journalist, Sir Evelyn Wrench. The goal, as stated on the top front banner of the brochure is "To draw together in the bond of comradeship the English-speaking peoples of the world." The organization continues today, both in the U.S. and Britain as an educational charity. In 1918 there were 774 members, but by the time this brochure came out there were 11,974.
